Nearly 700 customers and other healthcare IT professionals convened to learn about the new and enhanced functionalities in eMDs Aprima EHR/PM, Version 18.1, earn CME credits and participate in other educational, networking and charitable opportunities.
Austin, TX – September 24, 2019 – eMDs, a leading provider of innovative electronic health record (EHR), practice management (PM) and revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions for medical practices, today announced a successful conclusion to its tenth annual Aprima User Conference, which took place August 23-25 at the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel and Convention Center. The event featured nearly 90 educational sessions, brought together healthcare providers and their staffs and other healthcare IT professionals from across the country, for education, training and networking.
At the conference, attendees were able to receive training on the latest version of the Aprima EHR/PM, which includes new and enhanced tools designed to help physicians deliver excellent patient care, work more efficiently and optimize their practice’s financial performance.
As an ONC 2015 Certified Complete EHR, Aprima Version 18.1 users can even more easily monitor performance against MACRA quality measures with easy access to underlying data that helps them better understand and manage quality before underperformance impacts their bottom line. Beyond the features that will increase usability, quality and efficiency, there is a fresh, modern, sleek and engaging interface which not only looks beautiful, but also sticks closely to eMDs’ core requirement of its electronic health records solutions being functional, fast and requiring fewer clicks. Many of the new capabilities were customer driven.
“This was my 8th time attending the Aprima User Conference. I find that it is a great way for me and others in my practice to learn all about the latest updates to the software and how to best implement it based on our particular needs. It’s also a great way to network with other Aprima users, company representatives and the support team. I was able to learn more about Aprima Version 18.1 and I’m eager to get this latest release operational in our practice,” said Paul Schwartz, MD of Shasta Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. “I’ve been using Aprima since 2009 and even as a long-time user, I find the User Conference presentations to be extremely educational, and the opportunity to share ideas and solutions with other users to be invaluable. As a bonus, the evening activities were a lot of fun!”
The event kicked off with pre-conference boot camps focused on MIPS, Interoperability and EHR training for clinicians and more. At the conference, attendees learned about new features and functions in Aprima and special sessions on MIPS, risk management, genomic testing, patient care coordination, cyber security and wide range of other topics.
The conference also provided opportunities to learn about the products and services from eMDs’ growing list of partners that extend the solution’s capabilities to make users’ lives easier. The main sponsors of the conference were:
The keynote was given by Jacob Reider, CEO of Alliance for Better Health and former Deputy National Coordinator for Health IT at the ONC. Dr. Reider offered a thorough review of how and why healthcare has been slow to change, predictions for what the future holds in this important industry and how medical practices can best prepare for this new tomorrow.
“In addition to managing their patients’ health effectively, physicians want to keep their practice financially healthy,” said Derek Pickell, eMDs CEO. “The training our customers receive at the conference enables them to better utilize our system’s tools to maximize efficiency while maintaining a high quality of care. It’s also a great opportunity for us to get important networking time with them, which was a key focus this year, as this was the first time many of them had interacted with the new eMDs team since the acquisition last January. As always, we learned from our clients about features that matter to them and what they’d like to see in future releases. With our continued focus on customer satisfaction and retention, this was a perfect time to get direct input from a large number of our customers in person.”
Continuing a charitable tradition, attendees made blankets for the needy children at Children’s Health® Hospital in Dallas. This year, volunteers helped make over 100 blankets. In the past eight years, Aprima User Conference attendees helped create nearly 1,900 activity bags and blankets for the children in the hospital.
“This was my 8th Aprima User Conference and once again the conference didn’t disappoint,” said Patti Bingham, practice administrator at All Children Pediatrics. “The classes were relevant and informative, the format of the conference provided time to learn about new technology and new functionality in the product, as well as time for one-on-one support, networking and camaraderie. How cool is it to be associated with an organization that is charitable and makes you feel like family! Thank you and see you next year.”
