This communication is to inform you of eMDs’ current position as related to the developing COVID-19 situation.

We recognize that as a global organization in the Health IT and RCM industry, it is important that we maintain extremely high levels of reliability for our employees, our partners, and our customers. We recognize that there are numerous stakeholder groups that depend on eMDs and our systems and services to be operating at expected levels so that, ultimately, providers using our systems and services can focus on treating their patients.

We take both the health & safety of our employees and our role in helping the medical community better serve patients very seriously. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and any potential risk it may have for our employees, customers, partners, and customer patients.

We are working hard to ensure uninterrupted business operations to meet the needs of customers and other parties and are taking the following actions:

  • We are monitoring our business continuity plan and will modify it as needed in light of the COVID-19 virus. The CDC’s “Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to COVID-19” is guiding our response.
  • We are not planning on closing any of our offices or banning travel. This is to ensure we can meet our commitments to you.
  • With respect to travel, where possible, our teams will leverage conference and web meeting resources instead of travelling to customer and other sites. We have let our eMDs team members know that if they feel that they are high risk or uncomfortable with travel, then we will work with them and affected customers to come up with an alternative plan for the situation.

For our EHR customers, we are also publishing COVID-19 screening templates which can be imported into their EHR systems. We are also focused on adding more education around the use of the telehealth tools available to use with our systems and how they can be used to support telemedicine visits.
